BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS DEVELOPMENT

OVERVIEW

Develop partnerships with businesses and industry to increase resource development funds for the four institutions within the cooperative by:

  • Strengthening staff resource development capability to support partnership development
  • Obtaining support for high-opportunity vocational programs
  • Conducting annual events involving students to attract corporate sponsorship
  • Executing training/concession contract with partners
  • Establishing young entrepreneurs scholarship fund

 

OBJECTIVES

  1. Signed Contracts or business plans generated to raise high opportunity vocational programs at each college.

    • Identify high opportunity academic programs
    • Identify local businesses or national corporations for each of the identifies programs
    • Targeted businesses/corporations sign contracts and begin ventures

  2. In-kind resources from corporate sponsorships for each college.

    • Corporate sponsorships through events with student organizations
    • Corporate sponsorships through a student leadership conference with student organizations
    • Corporate sponsorship through an annual LA partners event with student organizations

  3. Contracted trainings increased at the four colleges

    • New contracts over the 5 year period.

  4. Funds each from two “Young Entrepreneurs” to be awarded to graduating student winners of most profitable small business model competition in each college.

    • Initial donations for Young Entrepreneurs Fund
    • Initial donations for Hispanic and low income student scholarships of which Funds earmarked for the Young Entrepreneurs Fund
    • Donations for the Leadership for Tomorrow scholarship
    • Donations to a 20-year scholarship endowment Fund for the Future, halfearmarked annually for the Young Entrepreneurs Fund.
