FOUNDATION DEVELOPMENT

OVERVIEW

Develop foundations to increase resource development funds from donors with in the cooperative by:

  • Strengthening Resource Development capability to support Foundation development
  • Developing plans, policies, procedures and publications for Foundation Boards
  • Increasing Foundation Board membership
  • Consolidating donor information and increase donor lists
  • Implementing alumni solicitation program
  • Conducting special events to raise foundation funds

 

OBJECTIVES

The Title V Cooperative is a five-year grant dedicated to institutionalizing capacity building at each campus. The following are self-imposed objectives to this end.

  1. 5-year Foundation Strategic Plan for each of the 4 Foundations which includes the following benchmarks;

    • Competency in Publication Production by Resource Development staff at each college.
    • A case Statement & Comprehensive Resource Development plan will incorporate best practices for resource development.
    • Foundation Board Manuals for each Foundation Board, incorporating plan suggestions.

  2. Overall increase in successful prospective donor contacts for each of the four colleges;

    • Recruit & orient five new Board members per Board.
    • Competency by Resource Development Staff on Donor Database Software program (Blackbaud) at each college.
    • Donor records from files cards entered into Blackbaud for each Foundation/College.

  3. Increase in effectiveness of Foundation donor prospect contacts as evidenced by annual increase in gifts to each college.

    • Incorporate best practices into each Foundation’s publications.
    • Competency in Annual Giving program for each 4 Foundations.

  4. Annual Fund campaign resulting in number of gifts received by each College increased.

    • Competency by each College’s Resource Development staff in methodology of conducting prospect research.
    • Employee gifts to each College will have increased.
    • New donors as result of special events and friend-raising program for each College.

  5. Major gifts increased for each college.

    Competency by each College’s Resource Development team in managing MAJOR gifts Program.

    • Additional names of major gifts donors or prospects in each College’s donor database.

  6. Alumni program with database records of prospective alum donors for each college.

    • Donor database with new names for each College.
    • Annual increases in names in donor database for each college.
