OFFICE OF GRANT DEVELOPMENT AND SPECIALLY-FUNDED PROGRAMS ESTABLISHED AT LATTC

Los Angeles, CA - Los Angeles Trade-Tech College established Office of Grant Development and Specially-funded Programs in order to provide centralized administrative support and structure for procuring, implementing, and evaluating grant and specially funded projects. The services will be provided by Marcy Drummond, Acting Associate Dean of Instructional Research, Planning, and Community Development and Kenneth J. Ramirez, Director of Title V Cooperative Grant, and the office will work with the college community to institutionalize a funding procurement process - coupled with the capability to act in accordance with grant restrictions and compliance matters - in order to effectively utilize grants as a means towards supporting student access, learning, and success and enhancing institutional capacity.
The major functions of the Grants Office will be 1) Identifying and Cultivating funding sources and opportunities, 2) Creating a Mechanism for timely responses to funding opportunities, 3) Ensuring Awareness and Involvement in the external funding process by faculty, staff, and administrators, 4) Providing Professional Development opportunities for faculty, staff, and administrators related to external funding, 5) Providing Grant Writing Support and Facilitating Grant Submissions, 6) Providing Statistical and Institutional Data for funding proposals, and 7) Monitoring and Managing External Funding Compliance including expenditures, indirect allocations, and reporting requirements. "The establishment of the Grants Office will provide LATTC with a conduit for getting external funding that is essential for enhancing programs, services, and student success," stated Marcy Drummond with much enthusiasm and anticipation.
